Article 1 – Realization

The Barra do Piraí International Student Film Festival – Festcine Estudantil 2024 – will take place from September 9, 2024 to September 15, 2024, in Barra do Piraí / RJ, with free entry.

Article 2 – Exhibitions
The Festival's regular sessions will be related to the following exhibitions:
• Local Competitive Exhibition
• National Competitive Exhibition
• International Exhibition
The Festival management reserves the right to determine the locations, dates and times of
sessions, as well as the order in which the films selected in each session are shown.

Article 3 – Participation
The Festival only accepts short fiction films, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, that have been produced from the year 2022 onwards, by students enrolled in basic education (6th to 9th year of elementary school, 1st to 3rd year of high school secondary education, youth and adult education – EJA or technical courses) in public or private schools in any region of Brazil and short films produced by young non-university students residing abroad.

Article 4 – Awards
The International Exhibition is not competitive in nature. The National Exhibition is competitive, with the “Best Film” being awarded according to the technical jury with a trophy given to the school unit representing the film.
The Local Exhibition is competitive, with awards in eight categories: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director , Best Art, Best Audio, Best Script, Best Film, Best Popular Jury Film. The award consists of trophies given to the winning schools in the categories, except for the Best Actor and Best Actress categories, which will be given to the respective artists.

Article 5 – Registration
Registration will be open until August 24, 2024. It is mandatory to fill out the registration form found on the website https://festcineestudantil.com.br.
The film must be sent to the Festcine Estudantil Organizing Committee, according to the instructions described in the “response email”, sent after registration. Registration is free and must be carried out by the educational institution where the student filmmakers were linked at the time of the film's production. The registration request must be signed by those responsible for the school institution, on letterhead, as per instructions contained in the “response email”, sent after completing the online registration.

Article 6 – Selection
The Festcine Estudantil Selection Committee chooses and invites the films that will participate in the different screenings of the Festival. The Committee's choices are sovereign and cannot be questioned.

Article 7 – Submission of Films
All films must be sent electronically, via the Internet, as detailed in the “reply email” sent to registrants. Expenses arising from sending the films for selection must be borne by the participant. The Festival reserves the right to refuse receipt of any shipment made in violation of these rules.

Article 8 – Materials
Festcine Estudantil will not return material sent for selection, even if the film has not been selected. Those responsible for the selected films must forward to the Festival Organization all the material that may be requested, such as press-kit, photos, synopsis, script, etc., when confirming the film selection.

Article 9 – Access to Exhibitions
Festcine Estudantil is not responsible for facilitating the presence of representatives of the selected films. The film representative who wishes to attend on their own will receive a credential that will give access to the Festival's activities, including screenings of all sessions of the three exhibitions.

Article 10 – General Provisions
The person responsible for the work and its registration declares to be the holder and/or licensee of all copyrights, related rights and image rights necessary for licensing the work, agreeing to assume exclusive and full legal responsibility for any claims, legal actions or disputes of any kind, whether directly or indirectly, arising from the exhibition or use of the audiovisual work in question, exempting the Festival Internacional Estudantil de Cinema de Barra do Piraí – Festcine Estudantil – from any responsibilities in relation to the use of the work. The person responsible for the work, upon registration, authorizes the work to be exhibited and included in the Festival's collection, and may be copied and distributed for non-commercial uses. Registration of the work in the Festival implies acceptance of the terms described in these Regulations.
